Opened in 1978 and originally called the Autodromo Internacional do Rio de Janeiro; renamed for Nelson Piquet in 1988 after his third title. Hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix in 1978 and from 1981 to 1989, after which the race returned permanently to Interlagos. Demolished in 2012 for the 2016 Olympic park.
