Most wins in a driver's first season
- Value
- 4 each
- Held by
- Jacques Villeneuve, Sir Lewis Hamilton
How it is derived
race_entries rows with finish_position = 1 in the first season in which the driver has a championship race entry. An entry that did not qualify or start opens that season as much as a start does, as most-race-entries counts it; counted from a first start instead, the leaders are the same. A shared drive's win counts for both drivers, and a first season still being run counts the races run so far. Shared: Jacques Villeneuve, 1996: 4 of 16; Sir Lewis Hamilton, 2007: 4 of 17. Next: Giuseppe 'Nino' Farina 3 (1950), Juan Manuel Fangio 3 (1950).
